Post-Gathering Work Trip 2008
As much as the Gathering is a great fall tradition, so is the work trip
that follows. Meet early Monday morning, Oct. 13, at the Folklife Center dining hall to head out in a convoy for the work trip location in Pearisburg. All skill levels are welcome! Bring work clothes and your enthusiasm!
We will help build some new trail near the historic Pearisburg Cemetery and repair existing trail that leads to the New River crossing on US 460. Experience is not necessary, but your help is needed! So come out and have some fun. There will be plenty of parking available. Tools will be provided, as well as gloves. We recommend you wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and sturdy shoes and that you bring water. Lunch and snacks will be provided by ALDHA. Please sign up at the Hiker Central Information Table (so we'll be sure to have enough food for everyone).
The work trip is being coordinated by Sanne "Ready" Bagby and led by Kerry Wood of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy regional office.
